Joaquin VFD to hold fundraiser, April 28 UPDATED

The Joaquin Volunteer Fire Department will hold its annual BBQ brisket plate fundraiser on Saturday, April 28th.

BBQ plates, which include sliced beef, beans, potato salad, bread, and a soft drink, will be served beginning at 11:00 a.m. at the JVFD fire station.

Cost per plate is $10. Beginning at 6:00 p.m. on the same day, there will be a cakewalk on Steve Hughes Drive in front of the station.

Fire department members would like to invite everyone to come out and enjoy some good food, fun, and fellowship.

At 5:30 p.m. on Saturday, immediately before the cakewalk, we will be holding a very special tribute to our nation’s veterans.

We would like to invite all veterans, and their families, from Shelby County and surrounding communities to come out and allow us to thank them for their service in a very unique manner.

Also, we would like our local media to come out and capture the event.

We have put together a one of a kind salute to veterans that we would like to share with everyone.

Thank you!
